No coding skills needed. No expensive software. Just Claude Code, Remotion, and the exact prompt below — running in under 10 minutes.
Do this once. Everything after this is just describing what you want and watching it appear.
Once installed, verify it worked by asking Claude Code directly in the chat:
Check what version of Node.js is installed
Don't have Claude Pro or Max? You can run the exact same setup using Antigravity — paste the same prompt and follow the same steps. Everything from Step 2 onwards is identical.
Paste this once into Claude Code. It scaffolds your entire Remotion project — folder structure, starter animations, render commands, everything.
Set up a new motion-graphics project using Remotion (React-based programmatic video) so I can design animated graphics and export them into any video editor. Keep the visual design simple and neutral — I want a clean, working starting point I can take in my own direction, NOT a finished style.
1. SCAFFOLD — Initialize a Remotion + TypeScript project in the current folder (latest Remotion). Install and verify it runs.
2. CANVAS — Put shared video settings in one place: default 1920x1080 at 30fps, but make resolution and fps trivial to change (I may switch to 4K / 60fps).
3. STRUCTURE — src/Root.tsx (registers compositions), src/compositions/ (one file per graphic), public/ (fonts, images, audio), out/ (renders).
4. STARTER COMPOSITIONS — Keep them minimal, I'll design my own look. Four examples, each with a clean enter AND exit so nothing pops or cuts mid-animation, using useCurrentFrame, interpolate, spring and Easing:
a) Title card
b) Lower third
c) Kinetic text
d) Transparent overlay demo (badge on a TRANSPARENT background)
Give each a zod schema + defaultProps so I can edit it live.
5. TRANSPARENCY + EXPORT — Overlays must render with a real alpha channel. Add these as npm scripts and document in README:
- MP4: npx remotion render <id> out/<id>.mp4 --codec=h264 --crf=18
- Transparent: npx remotion render <id> out/<id>.mov --codec=prores --prores-profile=4444 --pixel-format=yuva444p10le --imageformat=png
- PNG sequence: npx remotion render <id> out/<id>/frame-%04d.png --image-format=png
Add an npm "studio" script for the live preview.
6. README — Explain: how to preview (npm run studio); how to add a new graphic (component + register in Root.tsx with id, fps/size, zod schema, defaultProps); the render commands; and tips (keep text in the title-safe area; always give animations a full enter and exit; trim leading silence on sound effects).
7. NICE TO HAVE — Load a Google font via @remotion/google-fonts; show how to add a sound effect with <Audio src={staticFile("...")} /> inside a <Sequence>.
When done, launch the Studio and summarize what you built and the commands I'll use most.Claude Code does all the heavy lifting. You just watch and then start describing what you want.
localhost:3000 link in the chat. Click it — your browser opens the Remotion Studio with your 4 starter animations live. Every change you ask for appears instantly.Create a new composition called MyIntro. Dark background, my name fades in at the center, then a tagline slides up from the bottom. 5 seconds total. Smooth enter and exit.
"Make the fade slower" "Move the text lower on screen" "Change the background to cream white" "Add a 1 second pause before exit"
out/ folder automatically."Export MyIntro as an MP4 to the out folder"
For a transparent overlay to layer over footage:
"Export MyIntro as a transparent .mov to the out folder"
out/ automatically — drag into CapCut, DaVinci, or PremiereOnce the setup is done, this is your whole workflow — 5 steps every session.
Same folder every time. All your compositions and renders are saved there.
Claude Code gives you a localhost:3000 link in the chat. Click it and your Remotion Studio opens in the browser.
Plain English. Claude Code writes the code. You just describe the look.
"Make this slower." "Change that color." "Add an exit." Repeat until it's right.
Just say "export this as an MP4" or "save a transparent .mov" — Claude saves it to your out/ folder automatically. No commands.
